whats the difference in the head bolt kit from the windsor and romeo.... i got the head swap kit will that now work with the Windsor heads?? I read threw really quick but is there anything other that i should be worried about when i swap the windsor head other than the valve covers and the time chain guides? thanks guys

Aparently they carry different part number's on the bolt's and gasket's, I've mixed and matched heads, so I'm sure I've done it with the bolt's with no issues. The dipstick is a pain in the dick, get a Lokar, and a 18mm mid-depth socket to deal with getting the H-pipe off. The H-pipe was the most difficult part of the swap, that and getting the driver's side valve cover off. It takes some twisting and wrangling, but it will come out.

i was told just to reuse the dip stick thats in my car... o well. O yea, i got the mid pipe removal to a science... last time i took it off and put the prochamber on i did it in i think 45 mins... the hardest thing is the stock h pipe... mine didn't have the bend before the bolts like the stock on has on the passengers side..

Some people can pull it off and not bend/bust the stock dipstick, not me though.

i don't understand... whats so hard about getting it off??? Does it not pop off with the head/exaust manifold? I think i'm going to bolt the head to a cherry picker so it will hold it while i go under to work it out.

The way that it snakes through the manifold is what makes it a PITA, that's why they give you one with the headswap kit.

I honestly don't know if it fit's or not, I busted mine, and lived about 40 minutes from Summit at the time, so I just went and got the Lokar.

I've broke 2 of them myself...they don't like to be bent and crack...i went with the Lokar and have been telling people to buy that for a few years...its $40 well spent!!!

i seen something about swapping oil plugs from the npi heads to the pi heads. both the npi and pi heads are identical on the outside and i dont see any extra oil galleries on the outside of the pi heads, is this just for the windsor heads or im blind lol.

Are your PI heads new or used? If they are used then they probably already have the plugs in the right places. If possible just line up your old head next to the new head and if everything is the same then you are good.

Some of the new heads i've seen were missing the plugs.

Yea the last thing you want to do is crank it up and see oil blowing out the back of the head :rant:
