Well the short block in my cobra is done for. Im getting a engine out of a 90 LX car to put in mine. So i will have the forged piston in that motor. My question is should I bother pulling the cam out of the GT block and putting my Cobra cam in it? I will be throwing my GT40 heads with 1.7 rockers on them along with my GT40 intake.

If you're not doing a custom cam, by all means do a stock GT cam.

You'll have great success. A LOT of people use it because there is no overlap

In my opinion you might as well put in a half decent blower cam while you have it tore down. I have the steeda #19 and it has done very well for me. It flows well on the exhaust side and with the 1.7 rockers it lopes very nice, it will work with a stock tune so you are able to drive it to a tuner shop and it's price very well.
