Wow, that intake has really been hogged out. Looks like a break through between #3 & 7 on the lower, don't think it will effect anything. Nice score.
There are electric and cordless die grinders that will get the job done. Aluminum is easy to cut with normal burrs. Just need to spray them occasionally with something like wd-40 to prevent loading up.
