Ok looking at keeping it cheap and basically cleaning up my heads.
Im still learning about the heads and what to do for massaging a little bit more power out of them
(PLEASE DONT TELL ME GET A NEW SET OF HEADS) i dont have 1k to drop on just heads now
I want to run a cam either
tfs1 or anderson n21 price wise would like the tfs1
TF spring kit will also be had
Now 3 angle valve job will it work with the stock cobra valves or will i be needing a upgrade or will that be up to the shop doing it?
slight porting nothing big just again cleaning it up to flow a little nicer.
What are some other upgrades or ideas that can be done to these heads that will be effective but wont kill my wallet?

buy new heads.... no sorry lol. I am in the same boat. I am planning on porting an polishing, port matching the lower intake to the upper, and doing tfs springs and 1.7 rr. Outside of that I dont think there is much more power to pull from these bad bears.

A 3 angle valve job will be done by a machine shop. You can use your stock valves. It doesn't help power or flow it just help the valve seal off the combustion chamber better by having 3 sealing surfaces instead of one.

I like mine. I got a good deal on them, I got them for 250 all cleaned up and ready (just had to get a broken bolt out myself). I then got them ported for another 150 by a local guy. Big improvement over stock heads for suuure.

More im looking into it a simple 3 angle with a little clean up with mild porting then getting the intake ported also will be key now its the cam im looking at no matter what ones going in.. I see a lot out there that seem to work great with the gt40 heads and designed for them but some just keep telling me flat instead of roller and then i have to look at what the difference with the 1.7 is going to make with also buying springs and so forth.. Well step one in the plan is done now gotta build around it

Well im looking heavy into the Xtreme Energy™, XE270HR cam but now i need to know more about the right spring kit ti use with the 1.7s im getting some feedback and people say that the trickflow kit will be fine but still its a back and forth debate.. Yeah wouldnt want to get away from rollers esp with a (summer) DD car. Anyone got any input i would love to know i hate making new threads just for the a simple thing..

Well my whole plan went to shit now the closest guy to go and do my gt40s wants at least 400 for a clean and 3 angle job yeah not what i was thinking to be affordable.. So now instead of new cam 300 heads 400 and lifters 200 ill spend the extra 200 or so and get new heads.. Anyone know what goes good on a stock bottom end 95 cobra that works good with the 1.7 rockers? Calling trick flow tomorrow see what they say and going from there

The only way gt 40 are a good deal is if you port them you self or get it done cheap or just do a spring update and just put them on.

Im thinking trick flow would be best option now. Then need to know if they will work with the stock cobra cam and the 1.7 i hope i can get away with reusing everything i have already just get gaskets and bolt it up..

that's actually a pretty good price. My gf's dad usually charges $400 per head just for porting, but he does great work. Most shops around me charge around $150 per head just for a 3 angle cut and new guides

JJust bolt the gt40s on as is with a mild cam and have some fun for a while and save for some good aluminum heads.
