lookin for info , links , what not for swap , intake upper , lower , heads ...what to look for as far as parts , years to pull from ...ect..
Quit the bickering... This post should answer all the questions in your OP

You can use the GT40 upper and lower intake and the heads from the 96-97 Exploders. I would call a pick and pull, as my local one will give me everything for 450. I would call a machine shop. My local shop quoted about 180 to port and gasket match the intake and heads. I gotta buddy that used a Dremel rotary and did the port and gasket match himself, but unless you know what you're doing, I don't recommend it. You also will need to get an elbow adapter for the air intake to go on the GT40 upper, as well as obviously new gaskets. You can get an entire gasket set from American Muscle for 115... Altogether, in my area, that's quite a HP gain for about 745

No problem. I have done a lot of research on this, as it is the way I wanna go with mine. No super motor for me. My plans are above stated and a simple Vortech V1 S Trim with around 8lbs bewst, and all suspension goodies

Yes... Just make sure you don't get the GT40p stuff, as it is more difficult and takes slight modding. Make sure that the spark plugs come out of the heads just like on the stock E6 heads(I believe they are those). Read this;

Early Explorer engines (1995 to 19971/4) came with GT-40 Heads, easily indentified by the 3 vertical ribs on the front and rear of the heads or the "GT" cast into the corner of the head just outside the valve cover. These heads have stock spark plug angles, location and will work in Early Mustangs with all common exhaust systems.
The Late Explorer engines(19971/4 to 2001) have GT-40P cylinder heads, easily identified by 4 vertical ribs on the front and rear of the heads or the "P" cast into the corner of the head just outside the valve cover. These heads do require special headers, they have a different spark plug angle & location and may interfere with your exhaust manifolds or headers. Check spark plug clearance before installing these heads or an Explorer engine.

There are quite a few different ways you can go with GT40 setups just because there are quite a few GT40 options out there. For intakes, you have the Explorer intakes, Cobra intakes, and the tubular intakes. Generally believed that the tubular models flow a little bit more, followed by Cobras and then Explorer's. The lower intake is the same but the uppers are different. Unless you use a 94-95, like rz5.0 recommended, you will also need an adapter elbow or to convert your car over to fox T/B setup.

If you have the extra coin, go with the tubular... But, fyi, the cheapest I have seen them used is 350. If you do the port and gasket match on the Exploder intake, it flows basically the same as the Cobra. You could even start out with an Exploder setup, and save and keep an eye out for a tubular. As stated above, the lowers are the same

i love how you ask a question on a internet forum that has people who are suppose to give you information and you learn from each other, then you have douche bags who just say... "use google" lol if you wanted to use google im sure you would have.... just my 2 cents... but as far as your question, i love the the tubular intake... i had one for awhile but sold it for my trick flow i have now... but they are super expensive... someone mentioned seeing one for 350... that must have been a good deal cause the cheapest i have seen are around 600... and i sold mine for 750... good luck... the explorer intakes are nice too and flow just as good as the cobras imo

The tubular intake only came on the 351 equiped lightnings. Other than that you had to order them from Ford. If you want a tubular intake look in the classifieds here, the corral, CL or ebay.

I don't know much about aftermarket, because I personally have not researched them due to price. And the tubular I saw was on a local forum. For a while, the poor guy couldn't GIVE it away... I can check if he still has it
