I had been running AWSF-32C plugs for a couple years and I had always gotten them through Ford. I went in today to get some more and they told me they don't carry these anymore after searching for the part number several times. They offered me platinum plugs for the 98 explorer gt40p head, I want copper as that's what works best and is the cheapest. They said motorcraft is not making these anymore.

Where are you guys buying these? I'm going to buy some autolites and give them a go for now but I was happy with the oem plugs

Autolight 3924's, been using those for years with Aluminum Heads and N/A

Trav, 3924s are great for what your using them for, but for P heads not good. You want Autolite copper 104 or 764.

I was always told to use autolites - and 10 degrees timing is golden :)

10*?

That is stock timing, turn it up till it starts to ping and then pull it back slightly.

Most Mustangs will run around 14* of timing without detonation.

Well so it happened nobody had autolite or motorcraft plugs for my application. Canadian tire / part source sells a rebranded "Nascar" which they told me is made by autolite but they did not carry the copper plugs. I ended up having to with champion copper plugs since thats all that was available to me at that moment.

They seem O.K for now, I'll be ordering the recommended plugs for next change or maybe earlier we'll see

Autolite 764s are the correct replacement plugs for GT40 irons. I will never buy any plug but Autolites for my vehicles.
