I have a 96 gt with an auto, im ordering cms stage 3 blower cams this week with springs, what size stall do u guys recommend? I was thinking a 3000 stall would work, but I want ur opinion. Reason I'm getting the blower cams is I'm saving for a kenne bell.

as long as you stick wiith the KB, then yeah i would say a 2800-3000 should be good. But if you do go centri I would go higher. I personally run a BC-auto 3500 stall with my vortech. Thats another thing, I HIGHLY recommend Darrin over at BC for any tranny components you may need

Depends on a lot of things....when does power start kicking in with those cams?

and is this a street car?

are you def gettign a KB?

with those cams and a kb I would still go 3200 atleast.

With a centri I would say 3800

yeah man, there really are a lot of factors. Every one is going to have a different stall speed they recommend, but the only real way to see is to put your car on a dyno...

It is a street car now, but I'm working my way up to make it street/strip. Yes I am getting the kb. I should talk to Jim @ CMS to see what he says

+1

Still, those cams should make power up top so I would say a 3200 sounds about right with that setup.

you can get a 3200 tight enough to where you can barely tell its not stock untill you get on it.

a reputable shop with a single disc lock up converter will run you in the $800-$900 range

Cool, I new I would need a tyranny cooler, but is there a certain one u would recommend?
Also, before I keep forgetting to ask, what's the difference between a lock up an a non locking converter? Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to modifying an automatic

The B&M heavy duty transmission cooler works well for all mustang enthusiasts.
I second that you should definitely consider giving Darrin at BC Auto your
business. He does amazing work when it comes to autos.Give him a call!

i dont know about the heavy duty B&M tranny cooler, I am not familiar with it. But I did use B&M's cheap little $50 tranny cooler on my old tranny, which is what caused my tranny to fail. For that reason, I do not recommend B&M. I run a huge tranny cooler now, that if you call darrin, he will hook you up with as well. Thats who I got my converter and cooler from

Lockup means it will lock tight on the highway and such, you definately want a lockup converter.

Non lockup is basically ONLY a strip car

I was running a PI 3200 on my N/A setup and that was nice with my 3.73's. I sold that and was talking with Darrin at BC about my next TC and with my Roots blower i'm going with another 3200 but a multi disk. If i was using a different blower i think 3500-4000 would be where i'd go.
