well its my street car right now. Suspension is pretty much set. Im going to be running some Agent 47 stuff so that should be fun. So I want to concentrate a little bit of everything from low end mid range and high end power. But most importantly mid-range to high end. Ive done some more research and Ive gotten replys to get some AFR 165s and an F-cam. I wanted to go somewhere in the lines of a E-cam which I have now, the RPM II and the equivalent head to go with it? So if I keep the e-cam along with the RPM II, that will totally throw me off? In other words I want to do the "Stage 1" mild setup for H/C/I. As for money, heck Ill be spending a pretty penny but the cheaper the better lol :TY:
Well...
You have many, many options. You will get numerous different suggestions. Keep in mind this is opinionated advice.
The E cam is going to kill the potential of the Performer RPM II. The letter cams are decent, but are an old design.
For a mild H/C/I setup..
Heads: As far as the heads go with the Performer RPM II, shoot for at leasta 245in/180ex I would do the 58cc AFR 165 heads. Normally I would say do a 185, but if your looking for a mild setup - stay with the 165. They are cnc ported and they flowed 246in/191ex on a Superflow 600 Flow Bench - and that is with only a 1.90/1.60 valve. They have a .600 lift dual spring and a 3/4†thick head deck makes them ideal for nitrous or a blower.
The Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads are decent and do make power. The big deal on the twisted wedges is they have a canted valve, which allows them to run a 2.02 intake valve which everyone loves but, the canted valve is not the greatest angle because it is known to tear up the guides. In the end, you'll end up making more power with the AFR's..
Camshaft: I'd really suggest talking with one of the custom cam grinders though, they can really work wonders allowing you to still pass emissions and make great power. The 3 companies that make great stuff are Ed Curtis @ Flowtech Induction, Jay Allen @ Camshaft Innovations, and Bennett Racing also make excellent profiles. You will be looking at spending about $300 for a custom cam profile.
Pushrods: Your going to want to measure with an adjustable pushrod. Make sure it is hardened, preferably without a welded on tip. Welded on tip pushrods are NOT bad but have been known to break off in the past. One solid pushrod is better. TFS, Comp Cams, Crane all make great pushrods.
Rocker arms: I would suggest a stud mount rocker set. There are many companies out there that make great rocker arms. Crane is one of them. All of the Ford Racing rocker arms are made by Crane. If your willing to spend a little more coin on rocker arms, the Crane gold series rockers are superior pieces. Comp cams also makes great arms. As far as what ratio to go with, that will have to be suggested by your cam designer.
Lifters: You can use a stock replacement set from Ford Racing. Stock lifters go a long way.
Throttle Body: I would suggest a 70mm
MAF meter: PMAS 95mm Velocity meter would work well.
Injectors: Your going to need at least a 24lb injector
