H pipe tone advice

Hey guys, i was wondering if u guys could help me out with something. I was looking at installing an h pipe but not sure if it will make much difference in sound. I got a 3.8 with JBA shortys, all cats still on, divorced duals 2.5 straight pipes and Flowmasters 40's. Looking to cut both pipes right after the cats and welding up this h pipe. Will i get a different sound installing this h pipe? Is it worth it for the money? Thanks

The v6 is even firing, so the crossover pipe isn't really necessary to equal out the exhaust gases. It may lower the tone some. True duals are in my opinion the better option. Especially since you already have them. That was going to be my choice when I still had my v6.

Best advice I can give you is listen to exhaust setups with h-pipes on youtube and find what you like. If you like your current setup better than the H-pipe set ups then stick with it.

I went on youtube and heard a few V6 clips. It seems that the best sound your getting out of a V6 is by camming it. But i did hear some decent ones with stock cam but they had long tubes. Im gonna install it and see what it sounds like, im sure i can live with it.

I have a H pipe in mine but never had without the H pipe so i can't tell you if it makes any difference

H/X won't do much at all for you on a sixer.
If you want to change the sound, go with the long tubes and better mufflers than the Flowmasters.

yeah i went to the muffler shop and they pretty much told me the same thing. He said that my main problem would be the pipe diameter. The previous owner ran 2.5" from the cats all the way out. So he suggested to use 2" pipe or install the flowmaster 10 racing muffler.

I would think smaller pipe would make the tone more raspy and annoying... I would stick with 2.5" diameter.
