my car has eibach drag springs, 315/35/17 nittos on 10.5 wheels out back, 245/45/17 capitol sport on front( had them from some horse trading but do ok)on 17x9 wheels. i miss running curves bad but love the wide tire look out back. i know i have to watch the springs i could choose with the 315s but has anyone had any luck getting a mustang to handle with 315/35/17 and 275/40/17. i have been thinking about a cobra irs swap also.

I used to run 275's on all 4 corners and the car handled like a champ. 315's shouldn't be worse, if anything, but you might want to consider what the purpose of your tires is before you decide to start lapping. If you're running DR's, it's probably a good idea to switch over to a road race tire so you're not wasting money. If you decide to not do the IRS, a panhard bar might do you some good as well.

Just my .02, but I'm not a road race expert, either.

The 315's will add to the understeer tendancies of the mustang. Having 275's in the front will help a little but the weight of the front end is hard to overcome. If you're bent on keeping the rear tires as is, then there are other ways to get some of that handling back, or really just set the car up so you cant feel as much understeer. To do that I would stiffen up the rear of the car. A stiffer rear sway bar, panhard bar, torque arm, upper and lower control arms can aid in getting there. Either way, with your setup, you are not going to go out and win any auto-x/roadcourse events but atleast you will have some more confidence in the twisties.
On my car I have ran:
275 in front
295 in back
Tokkiko blues
C springs/ no iso's
Bumpsteer kit, CC plates
Steeda HD rear sway bar, stock front
Hotchkis lower control arms (rear)
All in all, the car was pretty neutral in the corners but it takes a lot of money to get these cars to really handle
