hey guys. got a question. i was thinking about doing a 3v swap out of an 05 stang. just wondering if anyone has done it and do you have a parts list? or even a ballpark estimate on how much it will cost would help. would it be easier just to build a short block?

Buy a parts car. Don't think about doing it any other way. You have everything you need to do the swap. That is what i did for my 4valve swap.

yea, i think it would be pretty involved compared to a 4v swap. The engine and components are for a completely different body.

IDK, just a thought

I don't think it will be any more or less work than a 4 valve swap. It is still a 4.6 and uses the ame block. It is going to be wiring, intake piping, and maybe a computer.

There is a company making the 3V conversion parts which makes it simple. I can't remember the name of the company and couldn't find it in a quick search. I'm sure if you look you will find it, and apparently with all their bits the 3V becomes easy.

I can't add any more info about the swap than the other replies, but may I ask why you would want to do a 3v swap?
