Having some problems 98GT Running Bad

When my car warms up it begins to run bad. It hesitates and feels like i pulled 1 of the plug wires off. If i were to hold the pedal to the floor the hesitation isn't as bad but, still noticeable. when its idling, its skipping and has a major fuel smell. Ive pulled all my plugs, regapped and replaced them. My Wires look good. I cleaned the Mass Air Sensor. Any ideas what else it could be? I don't think its a fuel issue. What are the signs of a bad O2 sensor?

did you pull codes? there might be some stored without a cel. i don't know much about you mod guys but i'll try. how old are the wires? they might be bad and you can't notice. It could be the o2's but you have 4. could be clogged cats too.

do a check code and see if anything pops up.. there are a few different things that could cause this... could be iac to tpc so more info on what you have done is appreciated to help you out.

sounds like it could be that your MAF isn't reading correctly and could be dumping more fuel than is needed. The way the MAF works is there is a thin wire that heats up and that thin thin wire reads the air going through.

My car has been hesitating and missing for months. I pulled the codes and it shows a bad upstream o2 and a bad downstream o2. One of the symptoms I have Is can be driving along and it will just start hesitating like it isn't getting fuel and just will not accelerate. Then I will floor it and it hesitates for a couple seconds then take off and throws you back in the seat. I just haven't wanted to replace them because they are about $50 each. Going to replace them after I get the new transmission installed though.

id check your fule rail pressure and your o2s.

+1 on checking o2 sensors and replacing them, it seems that they are the biggest problem when they are not working correctly, and while your down there replace the fuel filter as well, its not hard, just make sure you have bowl to catch the excess gas the falls if you do, goggles for your eyes.

You will also need fuel line disconnects if you want to change the fuel filter. They are like $5.00 at autozone.

i just pull on the fuel lines myself... lol.

i suggest motorcraft fuel filter and motorcraft o2 sensors

Mine wouldn't come off without the disconnect tools, I tried everything I could think of to get them off. It's much easier to spend the $5.00.

hm. yea, plus they are good to have around just incase you need them... i have one of those useless $5.00 brake-caliper-compressor-box-tools... i dont use them on my car, but i would hate to be changing pads on a different car and need it and not have it. lol.
