Having trouble getting in 2nd gear

Hi,
im having a hard time getting in 2nd pretty much every time i shift except when i just shift hard or just ram it in, it doesnt seem like its a synchro because it doesnt do that grinding noise when i try to get in gear, it just doesnt work its like something is stopping the shifter handle from moving towards 2nd, and then when i feel it move near 2nd i release the clutch then it just starts grinding like crazy or sometimes it makes like a gun shot sound and the shifter just pops out of gear,

I had it checked quickly at a garage and the guy tought it was a synchro at first but when he tried it he just didnt know what it was...

Its a normal t5, i know its getting old but is it time for a new one already?

Blocker ring? I'm honestly not sure, just throwin that out there. I'm guessin you have the stock shifter too? How many miles on the tranny etc.

I had the stock shifter when It began, now i have an aftermarket one and its twice as bad, its now a pain in the a*s to drive, the tranny has 100k miles aprox
