I am building a 347 and would like some input on head gaskets. The bore is .03 over. I want a headgasket that can handle boost well. What do you guys use? What bore head gasket should I use? :dontknow:

I was leaning towards a MLS head gasket, can you give me a hint to a good one? Some that aren't 100.00 a piece? Anyone??? :BangHead:

Fel Pro MLS gasket. I think the "small bore" size is like 4.100" or something. That will be fine.

Fel-Pro MLS > Cometic

Please explain why.

+1. Cometics have been in mls longer than about anybody, if they are good enough for my 10000rpm ZR900 sled they are gonna do the job on any car and they have been doing the job on mine for a couple years already.

They are half the price and just as good. If you wanna blow more money on a name, be my guest. It's not my money lol.

Dude, there are consistant 7 second cars running Fel-Pro MLS. Sh1t...Modo who posts on here has a friend that is running a 6 second turbo car and uses Fel-Pro MLS.

Must mean something, don't you think?

I never said Cometic was a better sealing gasket. I just wanted to know why you thought fel pro was better than Cometic.
Check the prices. Cometic is not nearly twice as much either.
Cometic also has a huge selection of thicknesses and bore sizes for sbf.

Fel-Pro MLS (2 gaskets) - $78

Cometic (2 gaskets) - $181.90

Either way, in the end I would rather use the 9333PT-1 over a multi-layer steel gasket. Not only do the 9333 have a stainless steel fire ring but in the end the cometics and Fel-Pro won't blow, your piston will. The 9333's on the other hand, will pop..saving your motor if something goes.
