Amen Scott!

I ran my own power wire to the battery, also chassis grounded the unit instead of using the harness. As Scott probably remembers I had massive ground issues so I completely eliminated the factory harness for my power, ground, and ignition. Took 5 extra minutes... Okay okay maybe 10 extra minutes but literally no longer than that haha. (Btw Scott it ended up being something with my brake pedal.. Literally I could sit at a dead stop in traffic and pump the brake pedal and it would cut in and out.. Idk wtf it was but it has stopped.. For now..)

As for the amp power wire I personally won't use anything less than 4g. I used to have the Scosch 6g waaaaay back in the day and that stuff was junk lol. Was probably more like 8g. Then I wised up after blowing enough inline fuses and radio fuses and got myself JL 4g with my Rockford T400-2. Then when my sister bought my cousins old Rockford 600-2 and P3's I snagged the wire which is Rockford 4g so I'm using the JL 4g on my 1600rms RE sub amp, and when I get some Rockford speakers I'll throw the T400-2 and Rockford 4g on the speakers. BTW this is all for my Jeep haha no boom boom in the Mustang for me. The 460 sounds pretty damn good. But should I feel the need to get extra boom boom I have a 600rms 12" just chillin in my storage unit, as well as 2 12" P2's... Damn I have way too many subs/amps/shit. And I don't even use half of it anymore lol.

Harley make a boom boom thread like Scott's!! Well not exactly like his, his is truly one of a kind, but make it fun! :)

If you are going to be replacing the speakers, you will want to bypass the stock amp then and its easily done. While you are getting hrns's get a 70-1770 hrns. IT will have the same power hrns that the others listed above but is has a different speaker hrns that you can easily plug into so you will power your new speakers with the deck which trust me is better. If you go to page 11 er 12 on my cardomain I show the hrns I am talking about when I point to it.

Hey , Scott I have a question . I went and looked at those harness kits today . Do I need the one that has a set of RCA jacks on it ? I didn't buy it cause I wasn't sure ..

Oh and I tried to put the box in my trunk and the ***** will not go in , maybe ill try to go throught the opening for the back seats , will it sound better with the subs facing reared the front of the car or twards the back of the trunk ? Normally u will get a higher spl out of being faced to the rear right ?

I would go with the one with the rca's myself but again if you are going to replace the speakers get that one, as well as the other standard ford 70-1770 as you will want the speaker hrns on that one as well. BAsically you need 2 hrns kits...

Subs facing the rear always sound better then forward.

i am gonna leave the speakers for now so i guess i'll get the one i had in my hand today , damit i should have just bought it.

should it have one set of RCA's or two , i seen two differant ones.

i am gonna leave the factory amps in for now ...

if you replace the front speakers, you will need to byass the amp for them. You are taking out a mid-woofer and replacing it with a full-range driver. Bypassing it means nothing more then connecting your speaker wires on the deck to the hrns that I pointed too on my cardomain page and then using the speaker wire that goes to the tweeter in the door, to the new speaker you install. You want the hrns with the rca's on it by the way as well as the 1770 that I point too and with the 2 you can play everything.

oh, what the hell. so i just pulled the factory deck out , and there is like 1 big rectangle shaped conector and 2 square ones . the kit i was looking at only has 1 square one and the rectangle one. plus i keep seeing other kits online that have just wire stiking out the other end and some have RCA jack's out the end ....

its like its the first time i ever put a head unit in a car , buts its really not i swear .... hahhahaha

maybe this was a mistake , lol

this seems to be the most popular one i have seen, and some don't have the high level input box on them..

that will use the speaker level outputs and feed into the factory amps, its also more expensive and not needed since you are replacing the front speakers.

Get two hrns - I know the one is 70-1770 from metra and the other one was listed above by deeplist with the rca's. With those two you will be suprised how good it can sound with the stock rear woofers in its enclosure and the new speakers up front playing off the new deck.

yes that one and the 70-1770. Wire the speaker outputs on the deck to the speaker hrns in the 1770, plug the rca's into the deck for the rear sub amp.
