header bolts?

does anyone know what the size of the header bolts on a 302? two of my header bolts have fallin out and few more of them were loose. any tips on keeping them from loosing up again. i have heard you shouldnt use lock tight.

i would go with locking header bolts. you can get them for i think around 35-50 on summitracing. i have heard only good things about them and are going to order some pretty soon

i will probably end up getting locking header bolts but for right now i just need some to fix my exhaust leak. lol a little strapped for cash at the moment. but i will look those things up on summit.

ya anytime you have headers recheck those bolts again and again. They always seems to loosen up.

has anybody ever safty-wired the header bolts? Is there someplace that sells bolts with the holes in the heads for safty wire?

ehh, locking header bolts work well enough, no need to safety wire

yea it just a pain in the ass to tight up those bolts on my car. not much room in there

That's part of having this type of hobby.

I only had to tighten my header bolts twice and since they haven't moved much at all.
