Any specific reason why? other then BBK is a good name. Because I already know that shorty's don't produce that much power in the first place and would really like to invest in the best style for the maximum limited power that I could get from them. I think a tuned length set would get better results then the BBK style shortys. but that's just an educated guess.

One of the largest gains from the 4.6 bolt-on wise is the headers. You will gain 15 to 20hp with them (REALLY), plus the bbk headers look really good... my father has them on his gt. Stock 4.6 exhaust systems are terrible. 96-98 motors are losing a good 30 horsepower with the stock 6 catalytic converters, and turd style headers.

They are for a 2004 motor I am swapping in. I'm not sure if the PI motors are less restrictive or not, but I'm sure it makes a difference.

Is there any reason why you don't want to go with longtubes? Just curious...

I already have 2.5" all the way back from the manifolds done and I don't want to have to re-do it to fit the longtubes. Plus my car bottoms out everywhere so I wouldn't even want to know what it would do with longtubes on.

Yes I just looked, None PI heads will generally make 20 horsepower with short tubes at best, and the PI heads have been tested to make only 15hp from their less restrictive heads. Expect 20-25 horsepower from longtubes. The turd headers are still very restrictive on the PI heads.

I'd also go with an offroad X-pipe... simply because the x design seems to have a better flow design than the weird H pipe. Besides BBK is a good brand... PYPES is not as good... I've bought an X-pipe from pypes before, and fitment was a pain, but it worked fine.

Mine is X-piped already to flowmasters.

I don't know about those. I think I would rather go with a more guaranteed name brand.

ya those aren't equal length. In other words, the car makes more power when each header tube is the same length as the next. BBK, Ford Racing, etc make equal length headers. It's why they're more expensive but they're worth it. Honestly those look like polished stock headers...

The stock headers are indeed restrictive.
If your set on getting shorties I'd get the FRPP shorties
as they have the best fitment.

I really like my FRPP shorty's but would like to go with longtubes eventually for power. If you want more power, go with longtubes. Else go with FRPP if you're sticking with the shorty route.

ok, if you could take some pics and let me know when you get them off that would be great... It would have to be pretty soon though, I plan on getting this project rolling soon. Thanx
