I was putting my off road h-pipe on and I had to use a swivel to get the last bolt out, next to the starter and it snapped in half. I got the old x-pipe off, I can see about half an 1/4 - 1/2 inch of snapped bolt coming out of the stock header. :puke:

Please tell me an easy way to get the snapped bolt out, I don't have a straight look at the bolt, either. This is on a 97 cobra.

Thanks a lot guy's!

About two months ago on my 95, I thought I was screwed when I broke one bolt on
each header, but it turned out to be not too bad. I had to remove the headers
and drill the bolt out and reinstall. I am not sure how that would be similar or
different on a mod motor, but that's my experience.

Yep, remove headers, drill old bolt, put new one in, weld in place for ease of x-pipe install.

Have fun on that giant motor of yours.

put a nut on the remaining stud, weld it in place. Use a torch to heat up the stud and turn the stud out of the flange.

Headers are not easy to remove on a mod engine like on a 5.0. If he can't get a drill up in there to drill it out, I like the idea above of having a shop weld on a nut and then try to turn it out.

When I did my clutch job, I worked around my H-pipe. The bolts were not coming out of the manifold, and I did not feel like breaking any.

Good luck.

Well, I soaked it yesterday with PB Blaster and bought a stud remover tool. I will hopefully get it out tonight. I might also try to hit it with a torch and than pray that it backs out................
