im having a problem with some mac equal length headers i just got the bolts keep coming lose and it seems it blows the gasket the car runs like shit im going to change the gaskets again does anyone know if lock tight would help this problem? thanks..

i have the same headers and ive had no problems, i used the supplied bolts and copper gaskets. Did u make sure to scrape and remove the old gaskets?

yea... i have changed them twice already they well be alright for a lil while and then leak again...

Stage 8 locking header bolts, pain in the asses to put on, but if you dont plan on taking your headers off anytime soon, you will be more than happy.

Thats part of it, but gaskets dry out and shrink which obviously causes the bolts to become lose and exhaust leaks. . So quality gaskets are half the battle.

after you put the headers back on let them go through a couple of heat cycles and go back and retighten them. Tighten them from the center out too.

This is true but several of my header bolts have come loose after only a few days... retightening them is very important but next time I'm going with stage 8 lockers...
