headlights cutting on and off

my headlights are cutting in and out when driving. I have no idea where to start but its a really annoying problem that affects my night time driving horribly. Any ideas on what it could be?

chances are it's the wiring pigtail feeding the head light switch.
They melt over time and pull away from the contacts. (another common prob).

You should be able to get the pigtail at the parts house of your choice. and just in case you should probably replace the headlight sw too while your in there. both are cheap enough

Now my headlights are completely out. The taillights and the front amber lights turn on but the headlights are out completely now.

Could it be a fuse or is it still the headlight switch even though the tails and front amber lights work?

Ya, go to any auto parts store, and get a 9007 pigtail.

it's not the head light pig tail. The head light SWITCH pig tail. behind the instrument cluster
