I was thinkin of getting my npi's p&p'd and then gettin some custom grind blower cams and was wondering if I dont get arund to s/c my car will I still be able to run it with the blower cams in there ir will it not work without the s/c? Im kinda lost on the subject but i got a new job now makin more money so I can finally do some stuff to my little ol' npi

A vortech S-trim on your car will get you to about 300 rwhp. A head/cam package will do nearly the same, so it's 6 one way, a half dozen the other. SC cams will run fine without a SC, you just lose a little power compared to dedicated NA cams.

right on, because I plan on doing them both I guess. is it even worth it to bother with npis? I mean my car only has 115km, its pretty mint but i know if i get some power i will want more and end up doing a motor swap eventually so would it be a waste of money and time now to do ported npis with some blower cams or what?

Not at all, or you could always build a second motor, slowly, then drop it in when you are ready.

speaking of waste of time and $...i hate to say it, but...and i know this is hard to swallow, but i myself would not want to hear this. if you are going to do a motor swap anyway, shouldn't you save the $ u would be spending on a s/c or h/c/i now, and get a hot long block in the finish? all depends on funds and fun, if u will...i would try to hold out, and save for what you really hope to achieve. will be better in long run. i was living in the now as well, but am a little older and wiser now. just a thought. if the parts you are looking to get now swap over to the eventual "motor swap motor" then: do as you want. think about it.

yeah, I hear you, maybe I will just s/c this motor now and have some fun with what I can get out of it, then wait for the bottom end or the whole motor to get tired as I get a good shortblock and build it up. Also im thinking of gettin the s/c and getting what hp I can and then doing most of the suspension parts as I go too, get the power to the ground

If you're gonna do the work yourself, get the blower first. If you're gonna have a shop do it, get the heads/cams first... :thumb:

I as well was in the same boat and went s/c route. I am at 350rwhp through an auto and 365tq. I plan on adding blower cams and i/c to max out my current block.

I'd go blower first if i had to do it all again, i went the H/C/I swap first and have had multiple combos and wasted alot of money. I should have just bought the Novi 2000 i was gonna get first.

Thanks guys. also im thinkin the procharger? how well are they or are they all relatively the same, and how do ppl like the self lubricatiing design?

I love my p1sc. It has been a great blower for me. But if I had to do it all over again I would have just bought the d1sc b/c I can see in the future after I rebuild my engine to forged internals I will want more than just the p1sc. But the p1sc will def max out a stock block. The only thing is to get the upgrade to a d1 now I will have to spend $$ when I could have just spent alittle more when buying the kit new. Hope this helps some if you decide to go procharger just look at your hp goals and decide how much room you want to be able to grow too.

right on, and yes I do plan on building up my motor in a few years so maybe the d1 is a good idea? whats the lowest boost level the d1 is? I dont want to make my block now struggle too much lol

cool, if i can get a big enough pulley to run some low boost for now i think im gonna spend the little extra for the d1, if its a good idea. how much cost difference is there between the two?

You only have to worry about the rods not the block. get a d1sc and leave the pulley it comes with on it.
