I get that too.. it happens when i drive the car hard for along time. I mean its obvious on a 5/6speed because your hand is always by the tranny so i feel tons of heat coming from there.

i keep my ipod in that filp up cigarette lid, and when i pop it open after driving long distances, or anywhere on a hot day theres a burst of hot air coming from the transmission, pretty sure its pretty normal

I do too, but I only get hot air into the car if I crack the windows and create a vacuum inside the car.

I notice this on my dads 98 vert, but I honestly have never noticed any heat around the center console/shifter area in my car. Guess Im just lucky.

Same here, it gets crazy hot in both of my cars...When i redo the carpet in the Fox, im gonna try and find something to reduce interior heat...

Mine too... but i don't have an inner shift boot, and my leather shift boot is ripped around the bottom, so i get a ton of heat coming in through there... if i can ever get up to the junkyard, i'm goring to grab a new inner, and leather shift boot, see how that works... I just assumed it was normal, and the reason mine was so bad, was because of those two issues i mentioned above.

Dynamat would be a good solution here. It prevents heat, and would make it a little more quiet inside the car.
