Heater flow and smell

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their heater. Maybe its just me but it seems like when I turn the heater on there is this nasty kinda smell that goes away once I turn it off. Kinda confused on this one.

Another thing is, when i set it to blow on my feet only at highest flow setting it seems fine, but when I try it on the highest on the vents it seems like it is only on mid or even the low setting. And no my vents are not closed I tried that lol.

Just wondering what I might be able to look for or anything cause its bothering me a little. I know about the vac line that goes along the width of the car on the firewall, it seems like its all good. Thanks.

what kind of smell? burnt smell, antifreeze, or something else?

Its hard to explain. It doesnt smell like coolant to me at all. It just has a gross smell to it lol. Ill have to see what my GF thinks it smells like and let you know.

Its usually anti-freeze, unless somethings crawled in there and died.

Lol not sure. I highly doubt any kind of animal got in there. Nothing more than a spider or something anyway. Its not really strong it just doesnt smell pleasant at all and it bothers me. I know last winter it didnt smell at all. I was just wondering if maybe there was a connection with it seeming to be a little weak when it blows.

I have a odd smell too. I got under my car yesterday and found out i have a water pump that is going out or a lower rad hose that is leaking bad. I have been loosing about a gallon of antifreeze per month. The temp gauge also fluctuates alot. How is your gauge??? Does it run warm ????
