Hello all,
I'm a noob so I guess my first post should be an into.
I have been waist-deep in VW/Audi tuning for the last 6 years. I owned an '01 Jetta 1.8T. I put a lot of mod and repair time into it and it was a blast to drive, buuuuut I got hit and she had to be totalled (it was a hit and run btw, hate that). I chose to take a break from euro tuning though because it's expensive to start up (all VWs are lame without a decent suspension, an ecu flash, and a full exhaust at LEAST) and the 1.8T sprung a new vacuum leak monthly.
So I searched for an SN95. I am familiar with the 5.0 from lending a hand here and there with a buddy's Mustang years ago. Honestly, I was drooling over having a torquey RWD car. By the grace of God I managed to find my new car in a couple days ...
She's a bone stock '94 Vert GT 5speed. It had 2 owners, both old guys. The last owner had it for 8yrs and only put 3k on it. Only 100k on the odometer and garage kept. It is 500mi from an oil change, but the oil on the stick looks brand new!
As I looked her over I was confused as to why he was selling, ESPECIALLY after I popped the hood and saw a spotless engine bay. His wife won the argument basically. So he just wanted it gone and get it over with lol. He sold it to me for $4,900. I think it was a pretty good deal.
I'll mod her eventually, but i'm just enjoying driving a car thats fun out of the box, has great paint, and has zero top or bottom end noise (VWs clatter like nobody's biz). I hope to learn a lot from you guys and avoid trolls as much as possible
See y'all around!
