HELP!!! Cruise Control

well my cruise control hasnt worked since i bought the 98 gt in february. and its gotten me a speeding ticket cuz of it. lol. if ne1 could give me any reasons 2 it not working and a solution to it thatd b great. thanx guys

#1, your broken cruise control has nothing to do with you getting a speeding ticket
#2, i dono. i broke mine a few years back as well and dono what to do about it. lol. :)

i kno! lol. just i drive an hour 2 and from work and its a long time 2 just sit ur foot on the pedal and it seems like ur going alot slower than u really are. have a hard time keeping her on 55, therefore i want the cruise fixed. but does ne1 know if there is a fuse or nething that could b blown or NETHING. thanx

lol. i hear ya amigo.

1997 they changed the cruise control set up a little bit. you need to find parts for 1997-1998 mustang GT to fix 'er up.

Check your fuses, check the sensors that are around the throtle cable, check for open wires under the dash, sometimes they get pinched when you take things apart and put them back together.

well thats my gf whether ne1 believes me or not. but i need help if u dont mind. fuses 6 and 9 were fine when i checked the other day

...and you did physically look to see that the cruise control cable IS hooked up right? It's not the same cable as the gas pedal cable. And check to see if it's loose.

Is your third brake light working? Or are any of your brake lights not working? The cruise control shut off switch is tied into the brake light switch.

You should run your car in neutral and have someone idle it up and then try to set the cruise control and meanwhile you look under the hood to see if the servo motor in the engine bay on the driver's side is functioning. If not those things, you might want to check your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) located on your transmission.
