Help, how to replace PS pressure hose

I know the concept OK, done my share of these, but on the SN95, the rack fitting of the pressure hose is nearly impossible to get a wrench on. My Chiltons has no concept of the problem, it says "REMOVE" like usual but no idea how.

It looks like I need to disconnect the steering shaft, then remove the two rack nuts and drop the rack away from the frame, then remove the other rack fittings first, then I should be able to get a wrench on the PS pressure hose nut.

Am I correct or is there an easier way??? TIA

You got it right.
Remove the rack to get to the fitting.

That stupid hose bracket gets in the way to when your trying to take it off the pump. I took it off and didn't bother to put it back on. No point.

my ps line leaks. i heard its an every mustang thing. its just like the tob chirp or suspension squeak.

Thanks. Our road race v6 car was leaning on the PS line b/c whimpy engine mounts, had dented the line and restricted it. Now we have the engine chained to restrict all those awesome ponies (LOL), but just replacing the hose to make the noise go away and fix a potential problem.

the one "mustang thing" we and a couple other mustang teams have noticed is that the PS tank top leaks like crazy, then oil gets on the sway bar bushing and causes it to pop out. We have to take a rag and zip tie it to the top, then cover all that with a plastic bag and more zip ties.

I replaced mine and I got a wrench on it. I used a open ended wrench and went turn by little turn...
