hey guys i have a 94 GT with about 185 or so on the clock. I have been having a strange problem. My car just won't run like it used to. What i am refering to is that i feel as if its hitting a wall and trying to push through and it just won't. This all started happening when i put the stock Cats back on. i almost feel its a fuel issue cause when i dropped some 93 in the tank it woke up. but now it has been doing this on and off for about 2 months. I cleaned the MAF and put a new IAC on since i had a spare one. I bought some of that Engine Restore and got a new fuel filter waiting to be put on. The only thing i can tell it might be is a horribly clogged cats or a terribly clogged fuel filter. you can tell she just wants to just open up it just can't break through that wall any ideas or thoughts that i haven't mentioned??? Thanks for the help guys.

I don't know what I'm talking about, but could it be your plugs/wires? My car was running like crap about 2-3 years ago! I did a full tune-up, still bad. My mechanic thought it might be a fuel pump going out. Someone on here told me to check the MAF. That was it! All my stuff needed to be replaced, still. Sorry I'm just throwing that out there! I hope you get it running like it should!

How many miles are on those cats and what was on there prior to you reinstalling the cats?? Your ECU probably is used to having a free breathing engine and now it's being choked up. Try disconnecting the battery to reset it, then reconnect it and drive it for a little bit so it can "relearn" what do to with itself. It'll probably run better afterwards. :thumb:

How are the oxygen sensors? It would probably be good to hook it up to a scanner and see if it's throwing any error codes.

I'm gonna throw my guess out there that it may be timing issues. I recently put my new engine in and I got a new distributor hold down and it was useless cause it kept backing out and the distributor would turn out of time so I junked it and went back to the stock one with some blue loctite. Check the timing on it cause mine felt like it was hitting a wall. If you do remember to unplug the spout connector or it won't show your base timing. Good luck.

bunch of stuff to check out really...if you have a friend that is a tech...see if he or she has access to a scope...then you can see everything the sensors are doin...could be lazy 02's, cloged cats, you can unplug your maf and mine would run fine at idle without it...but when i went to drive it...it just fell on its face...if it dont make that difference. thatn its suspect as well. a computer/module reset will be ok as well..just unplug the battery over night or for a hour or so and plug it back up and drive it(let it cycle through the drive cycles and whatnot).

for your other suggestions....ive experienced a guys 94gt that came to me and said the car felt slugish as the rpm went up....my first checkpoint was the fuel filter...cause you could here his fuel pump(stock one) whining like a bitch...so i pulled the filter and fuel shot out like a rocket even after bleeding the shrader and bam...because of lack of preventitive maintanence the fuel pump wasnt making the right pressure after the new filter...so a $2 part cost him a new pump as well..now it runs great again with 150k on the clock...so deffinatly check over all the basics....like i said a scope would really help you out on all the guess and check work...

try the battery/computer reset and get back with us...good look
