I have had some cheap stamped valve covers for a while now. They are ok but they do not seal all that well and I would like to swap them out when I install my polished intake(hopefully soon). I need a new machined aluminum set with out any graphics/logo's on them that will clear my trickflow TW170 heads with 1.6RR's as well as get around the alt that can be a problem. Anyone know what height they need to be over to clear the rockers, but need to be under to fit under the intake?

Yes they are expensive but they fit around the alternator and look amazing.

Yea they do look nice but I am planning some custom stuff to them that would not even get it up too that price. Wish I could find a height on those...

Factory Fox covers get my vote... they are aluminum. With a little grinding they will fit over a roller rocker pretty easily, ive done it a few times. Trick Flow's rounded ones, the ones that come in the top end kit, are pretty nice and not too much $$, they dont have any holes either, and the logo could be milled off pretty easily.

the fox idea sounds interesting, didn't thing they were aluminum. I just need something better then the stamped ones I have not that leak a little and want to get a custom design put on the top of it.

The only thing that might get ya with the fox covers is where the oil fill neck is, its sorta close to the IAC on a SN95. Grind out the baffles and you're good to go!!

[/IMG]I have fox valve covers on my car and they clear my scorpion roller rockers and their huge!! All I had to do is remove the baffle and do some minor grinding. And to solve the filler neck issue I cut the neck in half and got a 45 degree bent radiator hose and cut in about 6 inches long then shortend the top half of the filler neck and tied it all together with hose clamps works well doesn't leak and looks clean. Not a very good picture but the best I have u can see how far the full is from the iac valve now, we're it would be right up against it.

Ttocs , bang for the buck you can't go wrong with a set of fox vc's. worst case , you buy them and resell them for what you have invested. There cheep , offer some good options and will clear most rockers pretty easy. You can paint them to match , powder coat them or they polish up really nice and pretty easy. I snagged mine on craigslist for $20. Don't pay over $50 and at that , it better be what you want.

Where are you getting the laser etching done? I need to make a cover plate for my tubular gt40 and would like "5.0" etched in to it.

There's a set of fox vc's in the classifieds on here for $20 in primer. Let me know if you don't snag them , I'd like to get a set to polish and sell mine once there done.
