Hi all I have a 2001 GT with the Romeo engine and it has a bad rattle/ knock coming from the engine when at a light throttle setting above 2000rpm and when you float the rpm around 1800 rpm when in neutral. Anyway I’ve narrowed it down to cylinder 8 cause when I disconnect the coil or the injector I can’t get the engine to make the noise. Anyway long story sort I dropped the removed all the big end bearings and they look like new and when I pulled and push up and down on the rods I couldn’t feel any play on the small end. So I’ve decided to pull and strip the engine.
I have £3,000 to spend will this be enough to do a rebuild ?
Can anyone send me a link to a rebuild kit or give me a full list of party’s I will need?
I’m in the uk and I will have to buy from the states but I don’t know what I really need to buy.
