I've been collecting parts for a little while now and I and getting ready to put the newer motor and trans in my 95. While I am pulling it I am going to add the parts I have and have been collecting over the last few months. Is not much but should make the car fun!

Here's a list of what will be going on:

Stock bottom end and cam 5.0

Gt40p heads (looking into roller rockers just not sure of ratio)
Gt40 explorer intake
Trick flow elbow
Trick flow under drive pulleys
Mac shorty p headers
BBK stainless O/R x pipe
MSD 6al ignition setup
Sub frame connectors
Centerforce HDX
Steeda cable and quadrant
4:10's

For exhaust I have 2 options I have a set of super 44's and a set of stainless works race mufflers from a gt500 kit. Regaurdless It will be a dumped exhaust system. I'm just not sure which ones to go with.

What compression ration can i expect with the P heads and I'm also kinda wondering what kind of power I might expect to see ...lol Any ideas or input at all is appreciated.

I posted in the intro section and had some tech questions so I just copied and pasted... Lol

I'm wanting to know what is the recommended spring to use for the setup I'm putting together... I definetaly want it to rev but I'm not sure if I'm going roller rocker orcnotvjust yet.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Sounds like you have a good set of parts put together, I'd personally wouldn't install the under drive pulleys or the steeda cable, stick with new OEM.

Why not may I ask? Ivecheardcthecsteeda cable can be weak at times with a heavy clutch.

most adjustable clutch cables fail prematurely. As far as pulleys, unless you put on an overdrive alternator pulley you will most likely have charging issues.

I also wouldnt go for the underdrive pullies, theyre more hassle than worth. Also, Ive had an adjustable cable and Steeda double hook quadrant for years with no issues. I guess I'm lucky?

I would run 1.7 ratio roller rockers with the stock cam and stock pistons. You should consider a Trick Flow Specialties stage 1 cam, a set of hardened pushrods and 1.6 ratio rockers. That would help in the "rev" department, give you a modest power boost and make your pony sound mean :) Consider a Moates Quarterhorse chip!! It will help at dyno time, I think I have an extra one.

Exhaust.... The great debate!! IMO stay away from the Flowdisasters but if you want a chambered muffler, run MAC... The GT500 mufflers are intriguing otherwise I'd go with Magnaflow, SLP or Vibrant. Mainly depends on what your exhaust note taste is.

I would anticipate 275-285 (+/- 10) rwhp with the mods you have listed. I made 243 with next to no mods when I had my 5.0!!

I run the UDPs and adj cable, no issues. But I don't run any electrical stuff except motor related.

My GT40P heads have the trick flow springs, do not have a part # tho. I didn't install them, I want to say they are the springs matched to the stage 1 cam. I run a E303 cam, pulls just fine in the higher RPM.

About the adjustable cable: I installed one with my HDX clutch about... 8months ago. I have to crawl under the car every month or so to readjust that ***** at the fork. Exhaust.. with your O/R pipe, I think you'd be happy with pretty much anything, haha. My father had super 44s and they sounded great. I went with an SLP loudmouth catback and Pypes o/r pipe and holy crap, is it loud and mean, sounds awesome.
