help with shifter

i wasn't sure what to call this thread, but i just got around to cleaning my interior this week, and i'm not sure how i forgot, but the little boot thing that moves with the shifter broke off a while ago. any one know how to fix that?

yeah, it's hard to find someone who has. haha. it's the stupidest thing too. just a little plastic panel with springs on either side (i think anyways) and the panel snapped. i could just get a leather boot for it but then i wouldn't know whether i was in drive or neutral.. lol

i'm a fairly oblivious person lol. it'd be my luck that i'd be that guy to shift into drive when i thought i was in reverse

have you taken your console out yet? theres a track that holds that piece in place. you may be able to use some abs plastic and cut it to fit in the track. just ggotta be creative i guess. bet it would work fine and be easy to fix dude!

I honestly forgot all about it until I saw some posts in the post your ride thread with auto shifters haha. Might get some red plastic to bring some of the exterior colors inside

i was actually looking into that haha. didn't seem worth 200 bucks at the time though

people are acting like it's an auto shifter, is that the case? i'd be more than interested in it if it is.

My buddy put a shifter handle thingy that makes it look like a manual/drag shifter.. in his Auto 04GT... You cant see the gears or anything now. but its kinda cool..

He kinda made the car into.. "cuz racecar" kinda thing even though all it is, is a PURE show car. I mean, he has 5pt harnesses and a 75shot of N20(its empty).
Dont get me wrong, car is beautiful, but nothing on it is used for its intended purpose lol.

Lol he has LTs, P-51 intake, DRs and a full tune.. Hes an auto sooo.. When weve raced, my mainly stock cobra walks him lol.. its sad.

yeah ahha i'm getting mixed impressions from people on youtube vs am reviews. some people are acting like it's just a replacement shifter while others are acting like it makes an automatic a manual minus the clutch. which one's the case?
