I have Ford Racing Shorty Headers. On the driver side, the top flange bolt is stripped. I can't get the nut to screw back on. I tried the other nuts from the other flanges and they are also not screwing on. I guess I will need to change the flange bolt out.

Question is, Can I get the bolt off from under the car? I see the nut at the base of the flange. It'll be to tight with a wrench and I don't think a deep socket will reach it. Any special tool I can use??

Where to get a replacement bolts and nuts?

Thanks

I hate header bolts!!! I did that on mine, it was the middle bolt on my passenger side. And I have equal lengths on the car.... NOTHING would get it off. Until my friend reminded me of the awesome power of the vice grips. I freaking love vice grips now, they are the shit. Try that, if you cant get regular size in there, at autozone they have mini ones which are like a quarter the size of the normal ones.

Not sure what else you could use, just about everything is too big to get on and no room to pound a smaller socket on either right? I never had problems with the driver side but that has more room....

Good luck man.

pull the header off and get some vice grips on it. Go to the parts store and get a box of header bolts from the "high performance section"

Thanks guys. The mid pipe is off and there is a lot of room to work with on the drivers side! The stud is to long to reach with a deep socket, so I'm gonna cut it in half with a air cutter and that will give me enough room to get a deep socket on there. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
