There's no such thing is there. All these companies like magnaflow and flowmaster say they have "High flow" cats but how could that be possible if the cat-converter isn't actually any bigger? Its not longer, and its not... fatter. They look the same, yet they're supposed to be "high flow". I'm going to have to call BS on this one. I mean I guess they could actually do it, but then of course you're not going to pass the sniffer test so what is the point. Perhaps someone can explain if I'm missing something here.

External dimensions would stay the same to pass fitment issues. Internally they can space or use less of the "honey comb materials" to flow more cfm. I will have to let someone else try to explain how they could still pass the sniffer as I don't even have emissions tasting in my state.

they claim that they do pass emissions, and I have seen dyno charts to prove that they flow better. how they do it I'm not sure.

I have a high-flow catted-X on mine but mainly because at the time I was looking for a midpipe it popped up on craigslist for $100 with out a scratch on it. As for flowing mine will not be a good example since I have a side exhaust system.

as far as power goes I dont think they limit you. A good friend has cats on his 2004 gt full boltons and long tubes and puts down 270rwhp thats one of the most ive seen.

They're a little louder than stock, but for me getting rid of the fuel smell of the straight X was worth it.
