I purchased HIDs for my fogs from DDM recently. I chose the 35W 3000K kit because I like the yellow fog look.

Anyway, I put them in and was rather shocked by the output. Pics below...

Let's disregard the fact that the bulbs don't match each other. Judging from color charts and image searches, this isn't what I expected. In fact I can't really find a picture online that comes close to what I have with a 3000K.

So I sent the pictures to their support center, and they told me to send the bulbs back. I sent them back last week. A few days have gone by since, and I've now received a message stating the "supervisor" says they are the correct color.

So am I losing my mind thinking I should have a different result than this? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yea I think they dipped into their lost and found bulbs bin. I think everyone knows 3K is BLATANTLY yellow. Atleast they're similar color, but I've never seen a 3K looking like that.

Oops I forgot to say I sent them back...d'oh. I'll edit the post...

After I messaged the support center and they told me to send the bulbs back, so I did. I sent them out last week. I received the message about the supervisor saying they were correct once they arrived.

Great now I don't feel like I'm losing my mind lol I guess I'll be making a few less-than-pleased phone calls and/or emails.

Actually the right side one on the first picture looks a lot like my 4300k that I got from them, the left one looks a little yellow(er) but not what it should be

I'm not a light guy, and don't claim to be. But the one on the right looks like it has a purple hue to it

definitely have them send you another pair, my bro got some 3000K from them and the light they shine on the ground is very yellow, there's no mistaking it.

Here is the email response I received...

DDM Tuning said:
Hi Justin,
Thank you for the email.
The bulbs had been within spec when we had done our standard color testing but when I placed them inside of a headlight, the bulbs had changed color to a more whitish light emission. Then when I was removing them from the housing, it would shift to the correct 3k color. Due to this odd issue, we will replace them under warranty and our returns department will provide you with an email to update you on the status of the RMA once they have processed it.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I lol'd. They must have some special housings over there with magical, color-skewing abilities or something. At least they're sending me another pair. I'll update on those when they come in.

he said they're sending him another pair?

Yeah they were shipped on the 16th and showed up today. I think he was talking about the cost/time it takes when they ship from China (which mine originally were).

I'm gonna throw them in tonight...cross your fingers for me lol

The must have been shining them through a white or clear lense that changed the color from yellow to white....

DDM has gotten to be a joke now.
Their service has really gone down the crapper.

Never followed up here, but they sent a new pair of bulbs. The wiring and connectors looked far superior (read: less shitty) in comparison to the originals. Everything buttoned back up and now looks acceptable. It's not "JDM y0" yellow; it's more like "everything looks like it has pollen on it" yellow and I like it. I did not use that extra relay harness, or the harness to bypass what I assume is the ABS interference issue, as I figured out a way around both problems.

I suppose I could post pictures...
