Did you not use the same bulbs as are used for the other 2 bars? I'm not understanding why it would look different! I have no idea about that 'diffuser', though. Sorry you did not get what you wanted!
it is the same bulb. the inside of the lens is angled so when light hits it it will bounce back in all directions (diffuser). the top lenses are smooth . i still like it. i just need to find something brighter than a 3157 bulb.
They also made 94/5 export tails, these as you can imagine are even more rare then the 96-8 vertical ones. I have seen 2 sets in person one was on a car and the other was at a ford parts swap meet in columbus. They wanted 150 each light for them and the 96-8'w were 100 each at that time. I ended up with plain clear tails that day, but should have went with the export ones look much better IMO.
well i did wet sand and polish the tails and that did lighten up the tint which also made the lights brighter. but they still are not as bright as the upper 2 bars. if ya'll still want me to do a write-up i'll do it. it's really easy. no special tools either. the hardest thing was finding the pigtails for the bulbs. not that it was hard either.
but maybe he's covering the whole taillight with leds and not just a replacent in place of the stock bulb.
Now, lighting the 3rd and leds would be even more interesting!
