when(not if) I do them it will be up here for sure. Been looking forward to that idea for far to long to not show them off. I have taken the mold-plug I made to a couple of shows and got a great reaction out of them. Almost anyone with an sn that has seen them said they would take a set if they were priced fairly.

i've thought about this for years now but then ended up finding export lights instead. i think if you didn't mount them directly to the reflector housing and instead to the back of the light it would look better. when they are right up against, they don't spread the light out enough.

it would not have been that easy and would not have mattered on the ends that wrap around. I am going to have to cut the back out on the end because they are so thick and part of it will probably be visable from the back. There would be no room to move them back, it would also be MUCH harder to keep them in a straight line and then depending on what angle you look at it they could be blocked by the painted lines.

just finished with the last bit of silicon this time to hold the wiring inside out of the way so that it will not get in the way. I also had to cut a some small sections of the reflector out in a couple of spots to leave room for the light, they will be sealed with silicon and then covered with plasic weld and sanded so hopefully there will not be much of a difference to see. All I have left now is to figure out if I want to just paint the reflector white or cover it in mylar vinyl and get the back up lights mounted(still need to find what I need). Not sure how to do the reflector, the mylar will reflect better but will also probably end up looking a little strange reflecting all the individual led lights. Gonna try a test tomorrow and see what it best.....

This is a test fitting of the lense and reflector as well as to check the light output. At first there was a dark spot in the middle of the bottom bar so 9 more leds(total just over 260 now) fixed that. The lenses are still cloudy as clearing/polishing them will be the last step. Because of this the cloudy lenses are catching the tail lights and creating a blur between them and the brake lights but that should be corrected when its cleared.

This is just the tail lights on and not the brake lights. There are a couple of spot on the back of the lense that I will paint to keep the hot-spots on the edge out so that you should not really be able to see where the light is comming from

where is the list for the louvers? put me on it!

Thanks for the compliments, at least that is what I take from people that like them enough to want a set. There isn't a list at the moment as I still have alot ofwork I need to do before I get to there but I would love to see a couple of sets out and around and it would give me something to fill my time when I am not feeling bad as well. Keep your eyes open here or on my cardomain page and there will definitly be an announcement when I get the molds done.

Looking good. It's too bad the lens on the bottom bar has the diffuser inside. and the divider for the back-up light. But I know that there's nothing you can do about that. How much clearance is inside the bottom bar on the sideI put an 1157 bulb in the bottom but the light doesn't make it around the corner.

it is really shallow and there is only a 1/4" in there at teh most.

As you said unfortunatly there isn't any way around the divider for the back up light but overall i am happy with it. I was afraid the brake lights would show up as a more distinct line across the lenses but you can just barely tell they are there and the light up so brightly who cares...

I am hoping I can have them at the least glued back together by the end of the weekend which would mean I could try a test fit on the car.

betcha thought I forgot or gave up huh? No we had a small spell of warm weather so I had to swich to a project under the car while I could. Been spending some time on it here/there and making progress slowly. To put them back together I started off with some super thick gap filling CA glue and some kicker to help it dry. I used it in small spots ever few inches just to initially hold the pieces together and used clamps to hold it till that dried. Once that was done then I used a siringe(SP?) with a long pointed tip(for mixing paint) and worked the silicon into the gaps that the cutting wheel made. I am waiting till tomorrow morning for it to dry and finally I will go over it with plastic-weld epoxy, do some light sanding, paint the back and that part is done. After that all that is left is to repair the parts that were broken in shipping, smoke the lenses, paint the bezel and clear it all.

In other good news I finally got my gauge problem sorted out. One of them kept locking up but after replacing it they are all now working.

final led count was exactly 200 leds between the three bars and all the ones hidden for the tail lights. Now I just nee do experiment with how dark I can smoke it and still not worry about it being too dark....
