So I want to give you a little information on my experience with Kona racing (http://www.konaracing.com/) which last over a month and was one of the worst experience with ordering an online part.
Last month on May 5th i ordered a few things in the evening. Some shifter gaskets from CobraBob, Some stuff from AmericanMuscle, and a Shifter handle from http://www.konaracing.com/. I was reading some talk from DropTopPony on the Kona Racing handle, did some more research and liked the product so i ordered.
A Few days later i received my CobraBob shifter Gaskets (Which was the BEST and fastest service ever!!!) and my stuff from AM.....But still no package from Kona Racing. On May 12th (1 week after the order was placed) i still noticed no package and no tracking number...just a paypal confirmation. So i call Kona Racing?s Phone number on there page...I received a cellphone voicemail which i left a message asking to contact me and left my number....That day i received no call.
3 Days later that friday i tried calling again. It had been awhile and i had heard nothing. I had left 3 voicemails and gotta no response. So i kept cal the phone. After about the 5th call in the day i got an answer. I explained that i had placed an order and just wanted to know the status. I was polite and just explained that i wanted to know what was up. The guy gave me some BS answers. He said ?Well, i dont know about the order but i will look into it and give you an email back?. I explained that i just wanted to know if it had been shipped and he said ?Well, i just do this as a hobby and i will get an email to you?. I said ok and let it be even though he was lagging.
A few days go by with no email.
I make a few more calls.....No response.
1 week after i spoke with him on this phone (Now may 22nd) i was getting frustrated and wanted to know what was up...i really didn't care about having me stuff...i just wanted someone to tell me ?Hey, your stuff is shipped?..... So i called 3 times that day with no response.
The 4th time i called that evening i left a Voicemail, in a very polite manner saying...?Hey , I placed an order and have not heard back from you in a weeks time with no email confirmation of being shipped. I just want to know if my order has shipped. I just wanted to know because paypal gives me 45 days to try and retrieve my money from a Fraud seller...I just wanna keep my cash safe...Give me a call, thanks?
Later that night i get a text (Not even a call, A TEXT) saying ?Sorry your order has not been shipped out, I am out of town and the person who was supposed to ship was sick, your order will be shipped on the 25th and will be there a few days later. Sorry for the delay?
IMO, This whole text thing was BS. Why didn't he tell me he was out of town in the first place? I just wanted to know what was going on, i wasn't rushing him or anything...i just wanted assurance. I think the everything about the person being sick was BS....but thats just a gut feeling. What really angers me is that i didn't even get a Call...i got a Text. I left several voice messages asking for a phone call and not was given...just a text after i to told, in a nice polite way, that i has 45 days to get my money back.
So the 25th passes...... Still no Tracking number or nothing.
June 3rd comes and i am pissed....its now been almost 1 month with nothing.....so I call the guy saying pretty much the same thing as my last voicemail...but i added this, ?I just wanted to let you know that i am a Very active member of the online forum community and will be sharing my experience that i have with your company with the members of the mustang family....Thanks?
2 Days later, on the 5th of june, I get another text (Once again, A TEXT NOT A PHONE CALL) saying my product had been shipped and he had personally dropped it off at the Post office himself. Once again, i was pretty pissed because i asked very kindly from a phone call....even though he ignored every cal i made. The product finally shipped on June 5th, exactly 1 month after the initial order.
Today, June 8th, i finally received handle..... After over a month of lag time. I am just pissed that the owner of the company did not communicate with me properly. All i wanted to know was the status of my order.... I would have rather had him told me ?He dude, i am lazy and dont wanna ship it for a month? then play me around for a month with lame excuses. I honestly hate saying all this bad stuff about this guy because i think he product is awesome..... just the service was WAY below any standard of a proper business transaction.
