How do I syphon fuel?

Ok, I thought this would be easier than I thought. I tried inserting a plastic hose down the gas tank but It seems as if it gets stuck before I get to the fuel. How have you guys done this?

where exactly in so cal are you so i can at least know who took my shit? lol
maybe your pushing the hose down there too fast? the gas tank has a rubber hose thats has a bend in it leading from where you put the nozzle. maybe your hose is getting kinked in the bend? try going slower

get a syphon cheap pump has a small hose included.

there is a little flap that prevents us from syphoning much fuel on our cars, real PIA. i had to drop my tank FULL
