Does anyone know what a stock 96-98 5speed car weighs? Has anyone weighed theirs when its close to stock. My buddies mustang dyno sets the weight of my car somewhere near 3,600 lbs. I've always read that my car weighed 3,250 from ford but maybe that is dry weigh?

My crap weighed 3350 with me in it. Fully optioned out, full interior, trunk, all factory components in place. Only "weight reduction" is full exhaust, coilovers all around, and TF wheels.

I think I'm still gonna stand at my 3200 guesstimate then. My light weight consists of bare trunk, back seat gone, smaller than stock springs (good for 5lbs right? Hahaha) fiberglass hood aaaand that's it. My x9 and x10.5 cobra r's weigh more than the x8 Bullitts did, obviously. Now I'm kinda curious

I'm sure my Coyote is super heavy... especially with a glass roof, navigation, heated leather seats, 20s, huge brakes, huge car, and so on.

But I don't care.

In fact, I'm about to add my 15" front brakes to the car with rotors that weigh 32 POUNDS. Each. And calipers that weigh 17 pounds. Each.

Boo yah. All over you face.

You guys and your light cars. Mine came in at 3750lbs with me in it. Car has 03 IRS, 03 cobra seats, heavy 17x11/17x9.5, full interior, 1/2 tank gas, no weight reduction. Still ran a 12.9 @ 108.7Xmph untuned.

Just imagine what it would run on a diet ;) You could do it tastefully, so that the car is still a joy to drive.

I had planned on buying a lightweight wheel setup and removing the passenger and back seat. I figured removing some unwanted mass from the rotating parts (wheels) would help free up some power and weight. We'll see what happens.

The drag trim makes such a difference compared to what I'm used to running on the car .

I'd recommend some Enkei RPF1's, in the size I run they are like 15lbs a wheel. All of the others at that size are 28+ lbs unless you drop a huge wad of cash on multi-piece wheels. Bonus is that they are not too bad price-wise. I like reducing weight within reason. My car is not a dedicated track car, I want to live with it on the street. So you pick and choose the things to remove, every little bit helps. But I keep the convenience items like radio, power windows, A/C :) If it ever becomes a dedicated track car, well that's a different story.
