How much for gears?

This is the next thing i am probably going to get for my 96 gt and i was just wondering how much it would cost in all? My guess is around 700 dollars but n e one here who has gears tell me what u paid for em so i can get a good idea of how long i have to save. thanx

Gears alone are $200 at most. Install is where you're gonna spend your money. Expect $400-600

I paid 671 for a full installnkit, frpp 4.10s, and everyhing.

It can go up as high as $800. Depends where you go.

The prices really fluctuate but its best to find a shop that is known to do alot of gear swaps and has a good rep...my install was about $400 and i supplied the parts but it was from a well known shop that did a good job.

+1 you don't want to take it to some guy that has done only 1 or 2. Or a guy that has never touched a differential.

I have a guy that is probably gonna do mine, he has done quite a few gear sets and he use to be a ford tech doing that kinda stuff. He said around 250 if they were frpp gears and 300 for other gears... said the frpp were nice and required no other work where as the others had stuff like slag and polishing need to run right. :dunno:

I would recommend you look in jegs or summit, usually they have good deals on gear/ master install kit combos Usually like mid 200's

Yeah i went to a mustang only shop, that has done many many installs too!
