I admit it- I am still relatively new to this, so I have a simple question. I have read that my mustang may not like it much if I were to install a cam, for example, a ford racing E303. If I were to install the cam, would I have to take it to a tuner to make it run right? I am on a bit of a budget and am still in the planning stages for now. My mustang is a 94 GT, mostly stock as far as engine mods go, just an MSD distributor and Blaster coil sparking splitfire wires and NGK iridium plugs.

If you are only going to be adding a cam, you will be going through a lot of
work for minimal gains; and a good chance you will need a tune. I know a few
that have that particular cam and have had it tuned, and still have an issue
or two. I'm not saying you will have problems if you choose that one, but
you certainly could. If you are still planning and budgeting things now, plan
on doing more than a cam and plan for a tune. You may not need it, but I
would budget for it.

This winter, I did heads and a custom cam on my AODE and I will be getting
it tuned to tie everything together.

I've got a FRPP F-cam in my 94 GT without a problem. No detonation or anything. :dunno: Had to pull the motor to do some work so the cam got installed then.
