Just bought a mass airflow adapter and conical filter, how do I get the MAF out of the stupid clunky piece of shit ford thought was needed? I haven't even tried, apart from looking at the air filter when I bought the car to determine if it needed replacing which it did. (obviously) Help welcome! Thanks guys! :headbang:

Un clip the air box and unscrew the inlet tube from the TB. The MAF is inside this. There are 4 clips that can be a pia the unclip. May have to use multiple screwdrivers. Once they are all I clipped it will open up and the MAF will be visible. Now there are 4 10mm nuts that need to be removed in order to remove the MAF housing from the air box. Make sure you disconnect the wires as well.

You should disconnect the negative battery terminal before disconnecting anything electrical but especially sensors. I don't use a MAF bit I thought the sensor was held in place with tamper proof Torx screws.

It should've been unless yours has been removed before and the original screws not reinstalled. Mine has the tamper proof screws on it still.

The sensor is held into the metal housing with them, yes.

But he doesn't need to go that far.
