HOW TO TELL WHEN

How do you know when you need a new air filter....the oil/reusable/washable kind .....the one i have on my truck is from airaid i just washed it.

i kinda havea bad feelin about it

That whole "reusable" thing should mean that you don't need to replace it, unless it no longer filters air.. When you say you washed it, did you
take it out and use Airaids cleaning kit: http://www.airaid.com/Filter_Tuneup.aspx
or did you powerwash your engine bay with the filter still attached?

i removed the the filter and used the airfilter cleaning kit from K&N, though i have yet to reoil it ....

the thing is there are fibers coming out of the wire mesh and i can see through the wall (not very well)

i usually dont deal with ones this big(edit: thats what she said) only the ones on my quad

hmm... That's weird that it is starting to come apart like that.. I don't have any personal experience with Airaid, I usually get K&N
for my cars.. Did you buy the filter new? If so how many miles does it have? I don't know about Airaid, but K&N has a "million mile warranty"
on their filters, so perhaps you can contact them and get a new one.... And IMO I wouldn't oil the filter... It just puts junk on your MAF sensor.
Everyone I know, and myself, just clean the Air Filter once a year, let it airdry, and throw it back on.
