I had my L in the dealer since tuesday and today i went down there to see whats up with my truck... AS most of you know it had a rough idle and sputters at low RPM.
They tell me my truck is ready and they pull it out of the back, I get my receitpt and i go to read it to see what the issue was..

And here it come's :-[ this is what the tech's comments said. "EEctest - p0304, #4 miss, removed found spark plug dinged and porcelne part of spark plug cracked missing comperssion. test of cylinder found 120 psi. and all others at 165psi, needs engine. was told B u/c to put new spark plug in #4. Note that engine also has rod knock to close per u/c"

What i can i say i'm spech less. They told me to bring it back in two weeks to see if its running fine. The crazy thing is that the L runs good since the plug was changed. And for the rod knock it does have a slight sound when you turn it on.. but goes away right away. I was so pissed at them :slap: i said you better get this taking care of!!

It looks like i need a new engine? What you think about all this? I do have warranite the dealer has a 90 day 3K warranite. And i bought an extended warrantie till 60k

Wow, that sucks! :( I'm sorry.
I'd make em replace it asap, so they don't try pulling some "it's not our responsiblity, you did such and such and continued driving it knowing there was a problem" crap or something...

MOE wtf? You tell them dudes its under warranty, I want a new motor. Dont dick around with them. Insist and be like a rock man. No negotiations. The rod stretched and the piston hit the plug. Soon as you get on it its gonna happen again. And do it soon. Dont let them screw around and your warranty lapses.

Even in that two week time frame it still under warranty. The said they want to see what the plug looks like when i bring it back :blah2:. And that since i just bought it the paper work is still going threw.

Bottom line I WILL get a NEW motor!! At least with a new motor i don't have to wonder what the guy before me did to it.. It will be nice and new for me to break in correctly :thumb:

But she ani't running so hot today.. I opened her up and when i got to the light it started to shake.. and then stoped and went away. Power is down a lil bit to. You guys think i should wait for the two weeks or go back and say its still fuc*ed? And i want it fix now.?

Go back now and demand they replace it. It's b/s telling you to wait, they know it's done and are beating around the bush.

I bought a vehicle from a dealer once that wound up having a bad motor, they actually replaced the entire vehicle, lol.

Also, my car always rattled very briefly on start-up, and immediately went away. I just chalked it up to no oil pressure on start-up, it ran like that for 10 years and about 90k.

dealers have weird ways of making "loopholes" for themselves. i have seen and heard of instances of where they said something
similar "come back in a month or so" and the problem is getting worse, but when you show up a month later, they would say
"well you should have stopped driving it, now look at what you did" kinda thing. and then comes the 5 page bill, with a lot
of zeros. i would go up there a.s.a.p, and tell them you don't want to do any more damage, and have them start looking for a
new charged 5.4 for ya.

PUt it in neutral and mat it....till it pops...then there will be no QUESTION to that fact that you need a motor.

seriously, if its under warranty, they gotta fix it. stand some ground and telll'em you're not happy...until you are.

how many miles does it have on it? and idk what ur saying.. it sounds to me like it didn't have a rod knocking before? and now it does?

a rod knocking can never turn out good :( I have an engine right now that had a rod knocking for about 2 days and the 3rd day it threw a rod threw the side of the cylinder wall and a piston about an inch into the head

definitely take it back before the 2 weeks tho, like tomorow lol

x2.. if you wait for the two weeks. they will give you another excuse and will beat around the bush. i know your warranty isn't going to go out by then, but they will sure as heck try and get you out of the warranty. go ASAP and say its not getting better and i dont think i can drive this reliably. get me a new freakin motor.... NOW! O0 O0

you could also bring some muscle with yah, might persuade them a bit more so they know you mean business.. or pack some heat on yah. haha

I like his thinking. Seriously don't let them F with you. Take it back and demand a new engine.
