Some serious F1 technology is showing up into mainstream engines. The tech info has been available for 6years now and has been applied into some high dollar big name cars like Bugatti.
Basically, the spark plug has a tiny cap "chamber" covering the grounding straps and electrode. This cap has tiny holes. As the piston compresses the fuel air mixture, some mixture gets forced into this chamber. The sparkplug sparks, mixture ignites, and then within this chamber propagation occurs forcing flames out through the tiny holes like a blow torch, flame igniting the rest of the mixture, but with 4 to 5 tiny blowtorches. This is a summary explanation. Im sure there is a ton of science and variations with it. Its the new way forward!
Do you think a spark plug version will appear for older engines? Would older engines benefit from this design?
What are your thoughts about the idea?
