Just curious...

Why not take a set of stock valve covers and polish them...

Chrome eventually flakes. Polished metal just needs some buffing and it looks new again.

GOOD chrome will take a LONG time to flake as long as you don't "tweak" it or anything crazy. With chrome you just take some glass cleaner and call it a day....polishing makes my elbows hurt just thinking about it.

These are two of our shop cars.

I can clean this one in 5 minutes under hood.

This one is all polished...about 5 hours when it gets dirty.

I am sure you would agree though...

GOOD chrome is NOT cheap....

FYI : Some of you had mentioned possible clearance issues with the alternator....... These things fit in there like a glove, plenty of room to spare.

How tall are those? What intake are you using? Did it clear? Spacer? Sorry for all the questions. By the way they look really nice.

congrats on them fitting. I bought these bad ass trick flow valve covers when I bought my heads and they didn't even come close. They were tall though and I was even running the spacer. THey must be like stock replacements or something huh>

These are 1 inch taller than our stock valve covers. Stock ones are 3" and these are 4". I am running the GT-40 intake, and have not gotten to the spacer part yet, I did a trial fit and it appeared they would work without a spacer, but I ordered a 1" and a 3/8" just in case. (Ill return the one I dont need) I am still a little ways from getting the plenum bolted on, but when the spacers get here I will post and let you know if one was needed or not.

The color is "Electric Blue" and it is a translucent type of powder coat. It kind of gives them an anodized look because they still reflect like chrome.

Sorry, but lemme get this straight.... ...you hate chrome. Dont want chrome. Then you bought these, which were CHROME but sprayed with a translucent type of powdercoat so they could still have the shiny effects of CHROME? ...So what it really looks to me is that you like "teh shiny" you just prefer blue over silver. Yes I understand that with things like "black chrome" its still "chrome" because of the chroming process. These arent "blue chrome" because they were powdercoated instead of dipped like normal chroming, but to me, its still the same thing, you just used a different process.
