I'm driving home from Clemson the other afternoon, had just picked up some Sonic, and was heading home to eat and upload some pics from the Tigers' football practice. Naturally I had the Stang a bit faster than the speed limit, but I didnt realize it was going THIS fast. I see the unmistakable black bumper guard and light bar of a crown vic peak at the top of the hill. Instinctively I look down at the speedometer thinking I should be alright, just a few over, no big deal. Boy was I wrong. The needle was dropping down from 75, and speed limit: 55. :wall: :wall: I look up, and he's already in the turning lane about to turn around. I see him fly up behind me, and sure 'nuff: blue lights. I pull over, he says he clocked me at 71. I knew I was busted so I was polite and cooperated with him. He took my registration and license, sat in the car about 3-4 minutes, and came back to the window. Marked it down to 64 in a 55, $81 fine. Court date is mid-september so I'm just sending in the $81 and calling it a done deal.

But, before he got back in the Vic, he said "you got a pretty nice Mustang son, you should look into a catback system. It'll improve your sound. Have a good day, drive safely."

Not to be an ass... why do you hate them? Cause he did his job? You hate the folks at Sonic for bringing you your order right?

Now that was the nicest LEO encounter I've heard in a long time! What a great officer!! He even complimented your car & reduced the speed a bunch! What a break you got...I think you need to get a Moderator & have them change the title of youir thread to "I Love the SC Hiway Patrol!"

I got pulled over last night doing 69 in a 50 I thought I was busted. Luckily I knew the cop and he just told me to be careful! I was a bit relieved when I saw him step out of his car. I rarely speed and I just happened to lead footing it home and that was waaay to close :knuppel2: I guess 19mph is just extremely bad anyway though.

Def cahnge the title. That guy did you a favor that he didn't have to do.

He was doing his job, and being incredibly nice about it considering.

I would say you lucked out. I have never lucked out till just the past few months. But the LEO around here can be a little harsh. The one i have met in Johns Creek which is the new city i live in was really nice considering i was scooting around with no mufflers on a 1 AM on a sat. Luckily i had just finished working on my car and was covered in grease and i told the truth and he told me to have a good night. Be glad that's all you got here in ga anything less than 14 won't go on your record and be reported to insurance.

Consider that the nicest cop in the world. When I got my first(and only) ticket, i was still a learner driver with my dad in the car :p. Sad part is, I stalled the car at an intersection, gave it too much gas and didnt know how good the new tires hook up. Sadly, The cop wouldnt take that excuse and was being a dick the whole time, I changed lanes ONCE in a matter of 2 kms and he said I was changing lanes eradically. My, dad told him that I wasnt doing any of that and should stop picking on kids because of what they drive. Needless to say, a $140 stunting ticket, $75 screw up the ass charge from the insurance company and a 2 hour traffic safety course because of the stupid new system for drivers in my province and im clean. I have NEVER sped in city limits.

Luckily, WHen I feel the urge to punch my car(like yesterday, after cleaning the MAF) There is a long stretch of road to the east of my house where no one goes, So i punch it there. Sadly, I have been tailed by the cops countless times and was treated like a no good punk at a stop check because of my car(guy checked to see if I had my cats on... car is bone stock!) and was making fun of the fact that im a novice driver.

Consider your cop REALLY nice, I have NO use for the law enforcement with how I have been treated, maybe the police in the US are nicer, but I dunno, the ones in canada can be real dicks!

Thats no fun man, that cop was a jerk. Probably just jealous of that pretty little yellow mustang you have. Cops around here seem to be after the Honda crowd and are pretty good about leaving the real muscle car people alone unless you are like 20mph over the speed limit.

Well because of SC's finest... and Goose Creek's Finest... I'm selling my sixxer :(

However... the thread starter seemed to get a nice one. It's prolly because he was polite. I am polite to law enforcement officers and had a State officer be a DICK to me... so I AGREE with the thread title.

In bama more than likely it will be thrown out of court if its below 10, i dont know how it is in your state. Thats probably why he did it below 10. When i was 17 and had my red v6 i was 6 over and went up to the judge and he just asked me my age, driving record, if i learned my lesson and yada yada and made me pay court costs..

sounds like a deal man, I wish I could get some more breaks

i haven't gotten a ticket for over a year now lol, but the last one I got I was doing 35 in a 25 in a double fine zone :/ instead of doing a double fine the cop raised the speed to 40 in a 25 haha

he then proceeded to write me a ticket for an 08 mustang gt lol so I gave the ticket to my lawyer who is my aunt and eventually the ticket got thrown out of court cause of the year mix up

Id feel lucky if I were you because here the fine goes up by quite a bit at 10mph over and again at 15mph over.
