I bought my stang used and have been shifting on what was in the car since I got it. I never wanted to get a short shifter because I figured the "stock" shifter was shifting about as short as one could get, it was perfect IMHO.

LOL, I popped off the boot today and looked at it. It was a pro 5.0 shifter. Sweeeeeeeet. Already had cobrabob's stang shifter gasket in my basement out of some random buy one day, so I threw that on. Yay for smooth shift and minimal cabin noise!

Oh yeah! Free parts are tops on my list,so far at work I've gotten a lightbar for my convertible out of another 98.
Then last week as I was walking the yard again before the crusher got there,I took one more spin past a few cars
that have been sitting in the yard as long as I have been working here and I somehow never noticed.I got a Steeda
aluminum quadrant and firewall adjuster out of an 02 GT.Then to add to the pot I went back to another 98 that I got
a Cobra leather shift knob out of a month ago,and somehow just noticed that the springs in it weren't black, but
powdercoated blue.Yep,a full set of Steeda Ultra-Lites....now,I didn't get this stuff free but when I found the lightbar
I put aside $50 for it,well after the lightbar, shift knob, adjuster&quadrant and springs....I still have $20 of that original $50 left
 :drunk: :dancing6:  That doesn't even take into account the endless odds and ends that have
"made their way" to my garage like the complete charcoal interior out of the 02 that's in my 98....minus the dash
