I need help with koeo code 556.

I've been having a problem with surging idle recently AFTER I fixed a vac leak. So today I pulled codes and the only one I got was on Koeo 556...What causes this? I know its the 556 (Fuel pump relay primary circuit fault / Primary Fuel Pump circuit failure)..My car always primes and starts.

fuel pump relay is in the CCRM.
The dizzy also keeps the FP running while the engine is turning over.
Did you clear the code to see if it comes back?
It might just be a freek code

I reset the computer by putting pos and neg battery cables together...I haven't re run codes since then... I still have a surging Idle though. Im thinking its the IAC.

I don't think that is a good idea. There are two ways of clearing codes and doing what you did isn't one of them. If you want to clear codes disconnect the negative terminal (not recommended as it also clears the KAM settings). The correct way is to start the KOEO procedure with the jumper wire installed into the diagnostic test connector. When the codes start to display remove the jumper wire from the test connector. This erases just the stored codes and leaves the learned (KAM) values in place.

Touching the pos and neg together isn't what clears the codes. Just disconnecting the battery is what is clearing the codes.
What toyman said is the proper way to clear them though. without losing the KAM (keep alive memory).
