i bought my 96 about a mouth ago with a full 02 pi motor swap and it seems to run hot "or what i think is hot " 210-235 when im going down the interstate with the air on . with it off it stays at 200. in town it gets up around the 230-235 mark . is this normal? do i need to worry about anything?
i tried a search on temp but did not get much .
i have done a flush and removed the t-stat and the honeycomb grill.

Could be a few things. Radiator upgrade couldn't hurt. 180 t-stat. Does it have underdrive pulleys? Water pump may not be spinning fast enough. Make sure the fan is in good working order also. Is it an auto or manual?

It will run hot, especially with the higher compression from the headswap.
Had the same concern with mine - it would get up to the "L" on the scale durring the summer when it was headswapped.

The best way to cool it down is put in a good 3" radiator like a Fluidyne.
the stock radiator is less than 1" thick and doesn't do a very good job.

Check out the mischimoto radiators. Lot cheaper than fluidyne. Put one in mine a few months ago. Nice piece.

You will get mixed emotions on mishimoto products. IMO they are the worst radiator you can buy. You will have better luck with some kind of cheap white box brand. BE COOL is a good radiator for the price.

Re: in need of addvice.

i have under drive pulleys and its a manual the motor came out of an 2002 gt.
i took out the t-stat to see if it was my problem. im going out to burp the system now and replace the t-stat.
was thinking about getting some engine ice to put in there to.

I know this sounds stupid but if the car has different gauges it could very well be human error. If your temperature has always been normal and now its starting to rise, then yea you have a problem. I just figured I would throw that out there before you spend a lot of money and your problem not be fixed.
